Orange Apertivo Highball
Continuing the theme of seasonally-inspired cocktails, we’ve blended the flavors of blood orange with the herbal notes of Cynar in this refreshing highball. In case you aren’t familiar with the term, a highball is generally defined as drink made from a minor amount of base spirit and topped with a non-alcoholic mixer. The mixer is usually carbonated, such as tonic water, club soda, or seltzer. We usually use seltzer over club soda for cocktails, since it doesn’t contain additives, like sodium, that can alter the flavor a bit. Use whichever you prefer though!

Recommended Equipment
Featured Glassware: For highballs, we often reach for these crystal glasses from the Godinger Dublin Collection (shown in photos). You can find them on Amazon, but Macy’s frequently has great deals on sets from the collection. Hand washing is recommended, but we’ve found them to be extremely durable and versatile. They’re great for cocktails on the rocks and for sipping scotch or whiskey.
