Z's Pepperoncini Martini

Some love olives, some love a lemon twist, but Katie loves pepperoncini in her martinis. This martini may not be entirely classic, but it hits the spot after a long day of work.

Ingredients

  • 2.5 oz. gin (such as Rieger’s Gin)

  • 1 oz. dry vermouth (such as Dolin Dry Vermouth)

  • 0.25 oz. pickled pepperoncini brine

  • 1 pickled pepperoncini

  • Coupe/martini glass (chilled in the freezer for about 20 minutes, if you’d like)

  • Pint glass or shaker tin

  • Hawthorne strainer

  • Stirrer/cocktail spoon

Instructions

In a pint glass or shaker tin, combine the gin, vermouth, and brine. Fill with at least 5-6 ice cubes. Stir for about 10 seconds, until the mixture is well chilled. Place the strainer over the top of the pint glass and strain the mixture into the coupe glass. Place a pickled pepperoncini on top (use a toothpick if you’d like). Enjoy!
