Sparkling Mint Lemonade
If the holidays were a bit rough on you, it may be time to pump the brakes on the beverage front. This refreshing, nonalcoholic drink is a great option for celebrations or a relaxing evening at home. If mint isn’t your fancy, swap it out for basil instead.
Yield: 1 drink
Ingredients
1.5 oz lemon juice
1.5 oz. simple syrup*
6-10 mint leaves
Sparkling water or club soda
Shaker
Mint sprig (for garnish)
Instructions
Combine the lemon juice, simple syrup, and mint leaves in a shaker. Fill with ice and shake for about 10 seconds. Strain into a glass prepared with fresh ice. Top with sparkling water or club soda. Garnish with a mint sprig.
Notes
*To make a quick simple syrup, dissolve 1/2 cup sugar into 1/2 cup hot water in a jar. Shake to combine and cool in fridge. Extra simple syrup can be stored in the fridge up to a month.
